Description

American Traveler is hiring a Wound, Ostomy and Continence RN for a 13-week travel contract in a hospital wound care unit, requiring direct wound care consultation experience beyond standard bedside care.

Details

• Hospital-based wound care unit setting
• Serves as a wound care consultant, conducting assessments and patient education across all patients with wounds
• Day shift, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (5x8-hour shifts)
• No weekend or holiday requirements

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Wound care consultation experience required — this role goes beyond standard bedside wound care and requires advanced assessment and patient education skills
• Direct wound care experience preferred
• Wound, Ostomy and Continence nursing background preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include identifying wound types, performing wound dressing, writing orders for physician co-signature, and educating nursing staff on wound care orders
• Functions as a patient educator and wound care resource across the facility
• All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
