Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Postpartum/Mother Baby position in Austin, TX, requiring a TX or compact RN license and at least 1 year of recent postpartum experience.

Details

• Located in the Women's Tower (3rd floor) of a hospital in Austin, TX
• 24-bed Antepartum/Postpartum unit
• Patient ratios of 3:1 to 4:1, occasionally 2:1 depending on acuity
• Day team includes 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, and 1 unit clerk; no PCTs at night
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Rotating weekends required
• No on-call requirements
• EMR: Meditech and CPN
• Typical procedures include non-stress tests, hyperemesis management, insulin drips, magnesium administration, and heparin drips
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• NRP Advanced 9th Edition (current AAP card) required for all RNs in Women's Services
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in Postpartum or Mother Baby
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Previous L&D or antepartum experience is preferred
• Teamwork-oriented candidates with strong communication skills are the best fit for this unit
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Previous postpartum or antepartum experience preferred but not required
