Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Neonatal ICU (NICU) position requiring at least one year of NICU experience, night shift availability, and the ability to float throughout the children's units.

Details

  • Work setting is a hospital-based Neonatal ICU (NICU)
  • Must be able to float to all children's units as needed
  • Night shift schedule: 7PM to 7AM
  • 36 hours per week, three 12-hour shifts per day
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Oklahoma state or current multistate compact) required
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • Current NRP certification from the AHA required
  • Minimum of 1 year of NICU nursing experience required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
  • Full date of birth (DOB) required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include assuming care for an assigned group of neonatal patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions, monitoring physiological data, administering medications, and managing IV infusions and blood products
  • Involves collaborating with physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures, and communicating care plans with patients' families
  • Previous travelers who have worked at this facility may return after a 6-month separation period, as workers are limited to one extension per engagement (26 weeks total)
  • Compliance requirements (drug screening, background checks, medical requirements) must be initiated immediately upon offer acceptance and are strictly enforced — non-compliance may result in cancellation
