Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN for a Level III NICU position in Ohio, requiring NRP certification and hands-on experience with high-acuity neonates.

Details

• Level III NICU setting within a large academic medical center
• Cares for neonates from 22 weeks gestation and above, including patients under 24-28 weeks
• Patient population includes neonates with respiratory distress, glucose management issues, and those requiring surgical or cardiac interventions
• Utilizes Epic (Nationwide Children's) for documentation
• Utilizes Pyxis for medication administration
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active OH or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Experience in Level III and/or Level IV NICU settings required
• Proficiency with ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP) required
• Competency in cardiovascular dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with arterial line management, central line care, and umbilical artery/vein catheter management
• Proficiency in GI feeding methods and management of oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes
• Experience with IV therapy including IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids
• Experience with neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) interventions
• 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

• Multidisciplinary team includes NPs, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, respiratory services, social services, interpretation services, and unit secretaries
• SBAR communication method is used for interactions with care team and families
• Candidates with prior experience at Nationwide Children's Hospital (NCH) will be given special consideration
• All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
• No break between assignments is required when changing representation at this facility (except for Sterile Processing Techs)
