American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN for a Level III NICU position in Ohio, requiring NRP certification and hands-on experience with high-acuity neonates.

Level III NICU setting within a large academic medical center
-
Cares for neonates from 22 weeks gestation and above, including patients under 24-28 weeks
-
Patient population includes neonates with respiratory distress, glucose management issues, and those requiring surgical or cardiac interventions
-
Utilizes Epic (Nationwide Children's) for documentation
-
Utilizes Pyxis for medication administration
-
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
-
13-week contract
-
Active OH or Compact RN license required
-
Current BLS and NRP certifications required
-
Experience in Level III and/or Level IV NICU settings required
-
Proficiency with ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP) required
-
Competency in cardiovascular dysrhythmia interpretation and management
-
Experience with arterial line management, central line care, and umbilical artery/vein catheter management
-
Proficiency in GI feeding methods and management of oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes
-
Experience with IV therapy including IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids
-
Experience with neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) interventions
-
2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration

Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Multidisciplinary team includes NPs, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, respiratory services, social services, interpretation services, and unit secretaries

SBAR communication method is used for interactions with care team and families
-
Candidates with prior experience at Nationwide Children's Hospital (NCH) will be given special consideration
-
All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration

No break between assignments is required when changing representation at this facility (except for Sterile Processing Techs)
