Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 20-week travel contract on a Neuro Team, requiring Epic EMR experience and Level 1 Trauma background.

Details

• Hospital operating room setting, assigned to the Neuro Team
• Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM, with day off TBD
• On-call requirements include 1 weekday call per week and 1 weekend (Fri–Sun) per month
• 40 hours per week
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in good standing (temp license accepted)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 1 year of OR nursing experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• English proficiency (speak, read, write)

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include preparing the OR suite with supplies, equipment, medications, and other needs
• Performs patient identification, safety timeouts (upon suite entry, prior to incision, and prior to exiting), and appropriate patient positioning using positional aides
• Supports the surgical team during procedures by responding to requests for supplies, blood, specimens, cultures, medications, and dressings
• Transports patients to PACU or receiving unit and provides handoff to the receiving RN
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care provided
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• RTO is not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract period
• Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment at this health system for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning to any location within the system
