American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a General Surgery OR position at a Level II Trauma Center in Reno, NV, requiring 2 years of trauma OR experience and an active NV RN license.

Level II Trauma Center hospital environment serving a 500-mile radius, operating at the volume and pace of a Level I trauma center

General Surgery OR unit with 18 operating rooms

Patient population ranges from neonates to geriatrics

Common procedures include trauma, neurosurgery (ACDF, spinal fusions, craniotomies), Da Vinci Xi robotic surgery, urology, vascular, open heart, general surgery, trauma orthopedics, pediatrics, plastics, and ENT

Night shift: Monday–Thursday, 2045–0715

Charting via Epic EMR; training provided during orientation or candidates may test out

Active NV RN license required prior to start; RNs who have never held a NV temp or perm license may still be considered and must apply immediately upon offer

Current AHA certifications: BLS and ACLS

Minimum 2 years of experience in a trauma OR setting

13-week contract

Provides comprehensive perioperative nursing care across a diverse surgical patient population using the nursing process

Coordinates care with multidisciplinary teams and is accountable for individualized patient outcomes

Coverage for a minimum of 2 major holidays is required

Travelers who have previously completed a contract must take a 13-week break before returning, regardless of total time worked

No blocked scheduling is permitted

Requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration; the facility does not extend contracts to compensate for RTO

Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
