Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract at an ambulatory surgery center in Vail, CO, requiring an active CO or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of OR experience.

Details

• Ambulatory surgery center (ASC) operating room setting in Vail, CO
• Serves a broad patient population spanning all age groups, from neonates through geriatric patients
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts per week
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active CO RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
• Working knowledge of AORN standards
• Competency working toward or achieved in Tier 1 surgical cases
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and stand for approximately 50% of the shift

Additional Information

• Maintains sterile surgical field integrity and provides instrumentation to the surgical team during operative procedures
• Applies knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique, human anatomy, and surgical procedures in the performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures
• Monitors and maintains sterile field, checking packaging integrity, expiration dates, and equipment function to maximize patient safety
• Participates in the full Time Out process, including pre- and post-operative briefings and debriefings
• Assists with patient transport, room turnovers, and OR preparation between cases
• Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization
