Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN with at least 2 years of CVOR experience and prior travel nursing experience for a 13-week contract in Michigan.

Details

• Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) in a large academic hospital setting
• High-acuity adult cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical patient population
• Cardiac procedures include CABG, MVR, AVR, MAZE, ECMO, heart transplant, LVAD/RVAD, aortic aneurysm repair, and aortic balloon/Impella device management
• Thoracic procedures include VATS wedge resection, VATS/open lobectomy, esophagectomy, bronchoscopy, EGD, mediastinal mass removal, lung transplant, and hiatal hernia repair (laparoscopic and open)
• Vascular procedures include AAA, EVAR, carotid endarterectomy, AV fistulas, fem-distal bypass, fem-fem bypass, SMA bypass, and vein stripping/ablation
• Day/evening rotating schedule with a mix of 8- and 12-hour shifts (06:30–14:30 / 14:30–22:30 and 06:30–18:30 / 10:30–22:30); a 5x8 day/evening rotating option is also available
• Day and evening shift rotation is required
• Call requirements include 2–4 weeknight call shifts and 1–2 weekend call shifts per 4-week schedule; no call shift exceeds 12 hours
• Weekend call is structured as either Friday and Saturday nights only, or Saturday and Sunday days only

Requirements

• Active Michigan (MI) RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Strong scrub experience required (must reflect a level 3 or 4 on skills checklist)
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
• Flu vaccination required (no religious or medical exemptions); candidates with a documented allergy must obtain the allergy-free vaccine option
