American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a CVOR (Cardiovascular OR) position in Asheville, NC, requiring at least 2 years of experience and active BLS and ACLS certifications.

Position is based in a cardiovascular OR (CVOR) unit within a Heart Tower building
-
CV PreOp unit with 4 beds and a 1:1 patient ratio
-
Unit team includes RNs, a Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC), unit secretary, and manager — resources shared with the CVOR
-
Equipment used includes GE Carescape monitoring systems and Fuji ultrasound
-
Documentation is performed in Cerner
-
Schedule is Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–1:30 PM, with a shift time of 6:00 AM–6:30 PM
-
Requires staying late 1–2 times per week

Floating required within scope of practice and experience
-
Active NC RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start)

Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR or cardiovascular surgery RN experience
-
Critical care experience is required; PreOp experience is a plus
-
Proficiency with BCMA and strong documentation skills
-
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
-
Strong critical thinking and interdepartmental communication skills
-
US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
-
One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
-
No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Procedures performed include large-bore IV starts, chin-to-toe hair removal, medication administration, skin assessment, and assistance with arterial line, central line, and epidural placement

Responsibilities also include transporting patients to the OR and assisting with induction/intubation, positioning, and skin prep

Scrubs are provided by the facility

The facility is a Level II trauma center and the region's only provider of open heart surgery and interventional cardiology, earning a three-star rating from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS)

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible, no exceptions

13-week contract
