American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position in Hawaii, requiring a valid HI RN license and a minimum of 2 years of critical care experience.

Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in a hospital setting
-
Cares for patients in pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery
-
Shift lengths vary between 8, 10, and 12 hours across days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
-
Floating required between the ASU and PACU units
-
On-call required 0–3 times per month, including 8-hour night and 24-hour weekend/holiday on-call shifts

Schedule is variable with no shift preference guarantee

EMR: Meditech
-
Equipment includes PCA Pumps, Pyxis, Braun IV Pumps, Cryocuff, SCDs, Bair PAWS Warmers, HP Monitors, and Phillips Monitors

Active RN license for the State of Hawaii required by start of assignment

Minimum 2 years of PACU experience, or 2+ years of critical care RN experience (ER or ICU) in a hospital setting may be accepted as a substitute

Current AHA certifications required: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, and PALS
-
Flu vaccination or a facility-approved medical/religious exemption required prior to start
-
Advanced knowledge of anesthesiology and post-anesthesia patient care

Critical care skills including assessment of incision sites, temperature monitoring, and complication tracking

Provides nursing care for post-surgical patients across pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery stages

Strong critical thinking skills and prior surgical nursing experience are highly valued
-
All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the assignment start date; travelers should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend a Friday Employee Health appointment

Flu vaccination may be administered at the Employee Health clearance appointment if needed
