American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU/Pre-Anesthesia position requiring at least 3 years of experience, EPIC proficiency, and a NY RN license.

Hospital-based PACU and pre-anesthesia setting
-
Patient population includes pre-op cases across ortho, GYN, general surgery, neuro, and pediatric ENT
-
Patient ratio of 1:3
-
Shift schedule is 4x10-hour shifts; if working DOSA and PACU combined, shift runs 11:00 AM–9:30 PM; if 8-hour shifts, 1:00 PM–9:30 PM

Epic EMR experience required

Scrubs are provided by the facility
-
Active NY RN license required
-
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
-
Minimum 3 years of PACU or pre-anesthesia nursing experience
-
Combined pre-anesthesia and PACU experience preferred
-
Proficiency in phlebotomy and IV placement is mandatory for all RNs at this facility
-
Epic EMR experience required

Experience with pediatric patient management required
-
Familiarity with a broad range of surgical specialties including ortho, neuro, GYN, vascular, cardiac, plastics, and ENT
-
Skills in procedural sedation, airway management, post-epidural management, anesthesia reversal agents, and malignant hyperthermia protocol
-
2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Responsibilities include pre-op assessment and education, pre-op medication administration, Phase I and Phase II recovery care, and discharge instruction
-
Additional clinical duties include PICC line care, chest tube management, ventilator care, end-tidal CO2 monitoring, extubation, PCA pump management, and RASS assessment
-
Pediatric ENT cases are a key component of this role

Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
