American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity PACU position requiring recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience and an active NH or compact RN license.

High-acuity, high-volume PACU setting with a fast-paced, controlled-chaos environment, particularly during evening hours

Patient population includes post-surgical patients from a wide range of specialties including vascular (carotids, AAA repairs), thoracic (esophagectomy), neuro (craniotomy, neurostimulators, modified radical neck with trach), general, gynecology, orthopedic, kidney transplants, and Whipple procedures

Ventricular drain management is required; patients requiring ICP monitoring are transferred directly to the ICU

Proficiency with arterial lines, central lines, vasoactive and sedative drips, chest tubes, and trachs is required in this role

PACU overnight boarders regularly include ICU, step-down, and med-surg patients including post-craniotomy cases

Day/night rotation with variable shift start times of 0700, 0800, 0900, 1000, 1100, or 1900

Active NH or compact RN license required

Current BLS certification required

Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma center

Previous ICU and/or high-acuity PACU experience strongly preferred

2 manager references required for consideration

Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position

Provide post-operative care to a diverse, high-acuity surgical patient population including complex neuro, vascular, and transplant cases

Manage overnight PACU boarders who may require ICU-level or step-down monitoring
