Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Direct Observation Unit (Telemetry) position requiring Level 1 Trauma and Epic experience at a hospital in Illinois.

Details

• Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• 36 hours per week on a Medical Observation unit
• 13-week contract
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Associate's degree in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred
• Proficiency in basic computer applications including word processing, spreadsheet, email, and web browser
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to exercise independent judgment

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include performing patient assessments, developing and modifying individualized care plans, implementing nursing interventions, and maintaining accurate documentation
• Department-specific duties include assessing IV sites every 4 hours, starting new IVs per facility policy, and identifying and responding to changes in patient status
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
• RTO is not to exceed 7 total days for the duration of the 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment at this health system for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning
