American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Alabama, requiring strong cardiac monitoring skills and an active AL or compact RN license.

Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
-
PCU/Stepdown unit with a 1:5 patient ratio
-
Cardiac-focused patient population requiring telemetry monitoring and emergency response

Float to Med/Surg units required
-
Every other weekend (EOW) required
-
Required skills include IV insertion, Heparin protocols, and management of cardiac drips (no titration)

Additional clinical skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, central line care, and non-invasive airway management

Charting system experience required (any system accepted)

Active AL RN license or compact RN license currently in hand

Current certifications: BLS, ACLS; NIHSS preferred

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Prior experience in Telemetry and PCU/Stepdown settings required

Strong cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required

Experience with Rapid Response/Code team protocols required

Local candidates within a 60-mile radius of the facility are considered, though a lower bill rate applies for local candidates

RTO must be submitted at time of contract confirmation; no RTO will be approved after confirmation, and a maximum of 7 days of RTO is allowed

Schedules cannot be adjusted once a contract is confirmed

Orientation includes non-billable online modules averaging approximately 8 hours, completed at the facility
