Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) travel assignment requiring cardiac telemetry experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Hospital-based Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Weekend rotation required
  • Holiday rotation required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Patient ratio of 1:5 in the PCU
  • Cardiac telemetry monitoring, including management and interpretation of dysrhythmias
  • Peripheral line care and management, PICC line management, and titration of drips
  • EMR: Epic experience is mandatory
  • Floating between all health system campuses is required as needed

Requirements

  • Active NC or Compact RN license required
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Cardiac telemetry experience required
  • Experience with PCU patient ratios (1:5) required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
  • Driver's license (DL) required for consideration
  • 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide telemetry nursing care in a progressive care setting, including dysrhythmia interpretation, drip titration, and line management
  • All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during the compliance process; two attempts are allowed
  • No study materials will be provided by the facility — candidates should prepare for the EKG exam in advance
  • Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
