Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care/Step-Down Unit position in Clyde, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of step-down or ICU experience and cardiac specialty background.

Details

• Work on the 4th floor Progressive Care Step-Down Unit of a 154-bed Joint Commission Accredited community hospital
• 22-bed cardiac unit serving adult patients including cardiac observation, post-cardiac cath lab, and cardioversion cases
• Patient ratio of 4:1
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required
• Telemetry monitoring equipment used
• EMR: Paragon
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Step-down or ICU experience required
• Cardiac specialty experience required
• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) minimum education required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to adult cardiac patients, including cardiac observation and post-procedural care
• Team-oriented environment with an emphasis on strong communication skills and flexibility
• Orientation is held on a bi-weekly schedule
• Navy scrubs required; offensive tattoos and non-facility tops are not permitted
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
• Hospital is located in Clyde, NC, approximately 20 miles from Asheville and within driving distance of the Great Smoky Mountains
