American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Surgical IMCU/Stepdown position in Boston, MA requiring Level 1 Trauma Center experience and prior travel assignments.

Surgical Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)/Stepdown setting within a Level 1 Trauma Center academic hospital
-
Patient population includes post-operative patients transferred from PACU or SICU, including cardiothoracic surgery, vascular, neurosurgery, trauma, and transplant cases
-
38-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:3 to 1:4, or up to 1:4-5 when covering med-surg floor patients
-
Automated medication dispensing systems in use

Independent telemetry rhythm strip reading and interpretation required

FLEX 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, day/night rotation
-
Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) required

Active Massachusetts (MA) RN license required
-
Active BLS certification required
-
Minimum 2+ years of recent acute care experience

Surgical stepdown or IMCU/stepdown experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center required

Level 1 Trauma hospital setting experience required

More than one prior travel assignment required

Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips

Two professional references required — at least one must be from a manager-level or above (not a supervisor), including a performance evaluation; one must be within 12 months, the other within 3 years

Tertiary facility experience is preferred

Telemetry test and Critical Care Med test administered on Day 1

Candidates must pass the Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test (A or B) — the test may only be taken twice

Local candidates are accepted at the standard travel rate for this position

References cannot be provided by another traveler; one reference preferably from a most recent travel or temporary assignment
