Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry/Stepdown position requiring a minimum of 24 months of cardiac experience and Epic EMR proficiency.

Details

• 24-bed Telemetry/Stepdown unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes CABG, ICD, pacemaker, cardiac drips, and vascular surgical cases
• Patient ratios are 1:4 on days and 1:6 on nights
• Continuous telemetry tech unit monitoring is in place
• Common drips include Nitro, Cardene, Heparin, Diltiazem, and Dopamine
• Epic EMR is used; experience is required
• Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps and wound vacs
• Floating required across multiple campuses, including Iowa Methodist MC and Iowa Lutheran

Requirements

• Active IA RN license or compact RN license required
• Active BLS and ACLS (AHA) certifications required at time of consideration
• Minimum 24 months of Telemetry/Cardiac RN experience required
• Experience with CABG, ICD, pacemaker, cardiac drips, and vascular surgical patient populations required
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Alaris IV pump and wound vac experience required
• Drip/titration experience required
• Must have completed at least one travel contract within the previous 18 months
• One supervisory performance evaluation or reference from within the past 2 years required
• Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Scrub color requirement: Navy blue solids
• Candidates who were employed by the facility within the past 12 months may not be eligible for consideration
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Travelers are required to work 2 of the 3 winter holidays: Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be subject to a local traveler rate adjustment
