Treasury Manager Debt Management

Job Purpose:


The Treasury Manager Debt, works with the Group Treasurer to manage the Groups Debt portfolio and relationship with Banks. Key objectives include the renewal and new facilities, management of the cost of facilities, compliance and daily relationships with the banks providing the facilities. In addition, medium term debt planning linked to a strong understanding the Groups cash flows is critical.


The Treasury Manager has substantial autonomy in his/her role, at both strategic and operational levels. However he/she will be required to operate within the authority matrix parameters. He/she will be working closely with bank representatives, finance team and insurance providers.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Debt Management : Manage over all Group debt position based on current facilities and upcoming maturities. Plan for upcoming financing requirements by either raising fresh funding preempting re- profiling of current debt maturities. This is to be done in coordination with the Group Treasurer.

Management of cost of facilities and optimizing between banks.

Participate in development of long term debt plans and bank /debt strategies.


  • FX Hedging: Hedge cross currency exposures to minimize FX risk. Maintain IRS details and monitor the MTM on a periodic basis.


  • Relationship Management: Establish and maintain relations with counterparties/banks and provide them with required documentation, projections, forecasts while responding to their queries to ensure maintenance of good partnerships. Maintain the relationship with other business units and finance team.


  • Financial Analysis & Presentation: Perform analytical studies as directed by the Management and present results.


  • Corporate Governance : Comply with Treasury Policies and practices. Ensure circulation of Treasury Report on Monthly basis.


  • Team Work: Communicate and collaborate with Treasury and Finance Teams, ensuring Treasury planning is linked to short term Treasury activities and Finance forecasts of business cash generation capabilities.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or equivalent.
  • Master’s Degree in Finance or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Accounting, Finance and Treasury; out of which 5 years of them should be on treasury position within a diversified group where the candidate has managed direct relationships with Banks and also has direct engagement with Senior Management for analysis and reporting.
  • Minimum 5 years of UAE experience is required.
