Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Tree Trimmer and play a vital role in maintaining the health, safety, and beauty of Luke Air Force Base. This energetic position involves performing precise tree care, trimming, and pruning to promote growth and safety. You will work with a variety of equipment, including bucket trucks and rigging tools, to ensure trees are properly maintained while adhering to safety standards. Your expertise will help enhance community environments and support sustainable landscaping practices.

Duties

• Safely operate bucket trucks, cranes, and rigging equipment to access trees at various heights for trimming and pruning
• Perform tree care tasks such as trimming, shaping, removal of dead or hazardous branches, and overall landscape maintenance
• Use GIS (Geographic Information System) tools to map and assess tree locations and health status
• Execute landscaping duties including lawn care, planting, and general landscape upkeep to complement tree maintenance efforts
• Conduct thorough inspections of trees for disease, pests, or structural issues; recommend appropriate treatments or removals when necessary
• Follow established safety protocols during all operations, including proper rigging techniques and personal protective equipment usage
• Assist with land clearing projects and support growing experience in horticulture practices to promote healthy ecosystems

Experience

• Prior experience in tree care, landscaping, or horticulture is highly desirable; a strong interest in growing your expertise is essential
• Knowledge of tree trimming techniques, tree care best practices, and landscape maintenance procedures
• Hands-on experience operating bucket trucks, bucket lifts, or similar equipment preferred
• Familiarity with rigging procedures for safe tree removal or limb lowering
• Ability to use GIS tools for mapping or assessing landscapes is a plus
• Demonstrated understanding of safety standards related to arboriculture and landscaping work
• Growing experience in horticulture or related fields will be considered an asset

Pay: $23.00 - $31.00 per hour
