Position Overview

Friedman | Rubin PLLP is a trial lawyer firm that litigates nationwide and is expanding its in-house investigative team. The position is full-time.

Investigators at Friedman Rubin are active, essential members of each case team—from initial intake through trial. They are responsible for developing investigative leads, completing assigned tasks within established timelines, and maintaining excellent communication with all team members. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: interviewing individuals from all walks of life, research individuals—including experts—and corporations, analyze documents, create demonstratives, and master various technological platforms. Our investigators also are responsible for logistics and courtroom technology at trial, and must be comfortable with the rigors and challenges trials present. Travel for trial, scene investigations, and witness interviews and other investigative tasks is required. Investigators must be adaptable and skilled at managing shifting priorities. Because Friedman Rubin does not specialize in any single type of cases, the investigator’s role is fluid. Tasks may overlap with those of paralegal’s, as well as case management work.

This is a hybrid position with some requirements for weekly in-person attendance. and includes scene visits.

Qualifications

  • Prior investigative, legal, journalism, or research experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and interpersonal skills
  • High proficiency with technology; ability to learn new software quickly
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, shifting priorities, and rapid task-switching, Strong writing, documentation, and organizational skills, requiring minimum supervision for accomplishing assigned tasks
  • Willingness to travel for witness interviews, site inspections, and trial
  • Ability to work long hours when in trial, at times being away from Seattle several weeks at a time
  • Bachelor’s degree or at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Must have valid driver’s license and transportation

  • Salary range: $75,000 - $110,000 per year plus discretionary bonus
