Truck and Trailer Mechanic

Pallet Express is a well-established organization operating in Easton, PA. We are looking for a dedicated Fleet Mechanic based out of our Easton location.

Summary Under limited supervision, the Fleet Mechanic position performs work of considerable difficulty in the repair and maintenance of trailers, vehicles and equipment; performs related work as assigned.

**** 7:00 am – 3:00 pm Monday - Friday with the occasional after hours and Saturdays

**** Salary base on experience. Higher compensation will be considered for the right candidate depending on experience and skills.

As a Fleet Mechanic you will be responsible to:

• Diagnose, rebuild, repair and maintain trailers, vehicles and heavy equipment
• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment
• May act as lead person in manager’s absence
• Work on a fleet of over 350 trailers and 21 trucks as a part of a team
• Some driving as needed if the truck breaks down to go work on it, to get parts and make mulch deliveries
• Keep up with a fast-moving garage both indoor and outdoor
• Prepare and maintains records and reports
• Other duties including helping other departments as needed

• Technical Capacity including but not limited to 12 Volt electrical, brakes on trailers and trucks repairing

• Valid Driver License is a must
• CDL is preferred
• MIG Welding (aluminum, steel) and some Stick proficiency is preferred but not a must

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED

Within the last 3 years, two years of experience in tractor/trailer/construction equipment repair and maintenance shop that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

All candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
