Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Class 8 / Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This role requires advanced diagnostic ability, strong technical knowledge, and confidence handling major mechanical repairs. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hands-on experience, a deep understanding of diesel and gas systems, and the ability to work independently while maintaining exceptional quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, gas engines, drivetrains, and heavy-duty systems
• Perform advanced mechanical and electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Repair and maintain company trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment
• Service and repair differentials, hydraulic systems, motors, transmissions, drives, HVAC, and electrical systems
• Perform preventative maintenance services on fleet vehicles and equipment
• Complete PM checklists, oil sampling, and detailed documentation
• Service and maintain auxiliary equipment such as light plants, water pumps, and welders
• Rebuild major mechanical components
• Conduct inspections on air brakes, suspension, and DOT-regulated systems
• Complete US-DOT inspections (FMCSA compliance)
• Perform welding and fabrication as needed
• Safely handle heavy lifting and equipment movement
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Accurately document all repairs and service work
• Perform both shop and field service duties

Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

• Minimum 5 years of diesel mechanic experience
• Must supply own tools
• Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills
• Experience working on heavy-duty trucks and/or heavy equipment
• Ability to work independently and remain productive
• Valid driver’s license with clean MVR
• Class A CDL preferred
• DOT inspection experience or certification preferred
• Strong communication and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to obtain DOT medical card within 30 days of hire
• Formal mechanic training or schooling a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $41.00 per hour
