Trucking Dispatcher

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our team. In this vital role, you will coordinate and manage the movement of freight to ensure timely and efficient delivery. Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily dispatch activities for freight and transportation services using transportation management systems such as Alvys & DAT.
• Utilize tracking tools to monitor vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve delivery efficiency.
• Manage drivers' hours of service to ensure DOT compliance.
• Communicate effectively with drivers and brokers while maintaining professional e-mail/phone etiquette.
• Oversee fleet management activities including vehicle dispatching, maintenance scheduling, and compliance with safety standards.
• Assist with transportation planning by coordinating routes, load assignments, and delivery windows to meet customer expectations.
• Collaborate with 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) providers to ensure seamless freight movement across various channels.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in dispatching within a logistics or transportation environment; familiarity with freight operations is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of transportation management systems such as Alvys & DAT.
• Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret data from multiple sources for decision-making purposes.
• Proficiency in data entry.
• Effective communication skills while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
• Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures along with transportation planning concepts.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks efficiently across multiple projects.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
