Trucking Dispatcher

We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Trucking Dispatcher to coordinate and manage freight transportation operations efficiently. Duties

• Coordinate daily dispatch activities for freight shipments, ensuring accurate routing and scheduling using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine.
• Communicate effectively with drivers via multi-line phone systems, providing clear instructions and updates on routes, delivery times, and any issues that arise.
• Utilize GPS and GIS tools to monitor vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve overall transportation planning.
• Manage freight documentation, data entry, and shipment tracking to maintain precise records for shipping & receiving operations.
• Collaborate with supply chain teams to coordinate third-party logistics (3PL) providers and ensure compliance with shipping regulations.
• Conduct analysis of transportation data to identify efficiencies, troubleshoot delays, and enhance fleet management strategies.
• Maintain strong phone etiquette and communication skills when interacting with drivers, clients, vendors, and internal teams to foster positive relationships.
• Support transportation planning by analyzing freight demands, scheduling pickups/deliveries, and adjusting dispatch plans as needed for maximum efficiency.
• Oversee fleet management activities including vehicle allocation, maintenance scheduling, and compliance with safety standards using tools like AS400 or Oracle Transportation Management.
• Assist in shipping & receiving processes by verifying shipments, updating tracking systems, and coordinating with warehouse staff.

Skills

• Proficiency in transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine is essential for effective dispatching.
• Strong analysis skills to interpret logistics data, optimize routes, and improve overall supply chain performance.
• Experience with GPS technology, GIS mapping tools, and transportation planning software to enhance route efficiency.
• Excellent communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette for seamless interactions with drivers and clients.
• Ability to perform accurate data entry using multi-line phone systems, AS400 platforms, or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools.
• Knowledge of freight operations including shipping & receiving procedures within a 3PL environment.
• Familiarity with fleet management practices including vehicle maintenance scheduling and compliance standards.
• Understanding of transportation regulations and safety protocols to ensure legal compliance across all operations. Pay: $25.25 - $30.41 per hour
