Job description:

Our company is looking for a dedicated Truss Designer to become part of our dynamic construction team in Cedar Hill, Texas. This full-time position is designed for an experienced structural design specialist who excels at producing reliable and innovative design solutions. The role offers the opportunity to work on diverse residential and commercial projects, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and overall excellence that contributes to the continued growth and success of the company.

Responsabilities:

  • Create structural designs for trusses, wall panels, and related systems in full compliance with building codes and project standards.
  • Analyze and interpret construction blueprints, bid proposals, and technical documentation to produce reliable design outcomes.
  • Prepare accurate material take-offs and comprehensive cost estimates to aid in project planning.
  • Work closely with engineers, project managers, and clients to provide solutions that meet deadlines while optimizing efficiency and cost.
  • Track and manage project records, revisions, and change orders to ensure design accuracy and consistency.
  • Develop and submit shop drawings, submittals, and layout packages with precision and within established schedules.

Skills:

  • Proficient in analyzing and applying architectural drawings, structural plans, and technical documentation.
  • Highly organized with advanced critical-thinking and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively in team settings.
  • Demonstrated capacity to perform under pressure and deliver results within tight schedules.
  • Experience with estimating tools or takeoff software is considered an advantage.

Education and experience:

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in construction design or estimating, with emphasis on truss-related projects.
  • Strong knowledge of wood framing methods and fundamental truss concepts.
  • On-site framing experience or practical application is highly valued.
  • Academic training in drafting, engineering, construction technology, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish is beneficial but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
