If you have experience in estate planning, you may be an excellent addition to our growing law firm. We are looking for a highly analytical candidate with good negotiation and organizing skills who can work full-time in the office. As our estate planning attorney, you will draft wills, trusts, and powers of attorney for clients and their families. To ensure that an estate's management is handled in accordance with the wishes of the estate owner, this position requires a significant level of responsibility. Compensation:

$100,000

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare wills, trusts, and power of attorney documents
  • Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date
  • Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move files through the civil litigation process
  • Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs, analyzing the situation, then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action
  • Ensure clients are effectively represented at court hearings as needed
  • Drafts Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, and Advance Directives for Health Care.
  • Researches and drafts deeds.
  • Applies for tax identification numbers.
  • Guides clients signing estate planning documents.
  • Helps clients by keeping clients informed of case progress.
  • Gathers and organizes client information.
  • Inputs information into practice management software.
  • Maintains electronic and hard copy files.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
  • Accomplishes law firm mission by completing special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Understanding of a variety of real estate matters, including title insurance, wills and trusts, property management, and litigation
  • Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required
  • Candidates should be great communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high
  • Active membership with the ABA (American Bar Association)
  • At least 1-2 years of working in a law firm on on estate planning and probate law issues is necessary
  • J.D. is required.
  • The ability to utilize advanced features of Microsoft products.
  • Keen attention to detail.
