Tutor Counselors are directly responsible to the Associate Director. T/C's will assist the staff in monitoring participants in their adjustment to the program and working with these students to tutor and facilitate their adjustment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct group and individual counseling and tutorial sessions as requested.

  • Assist in the summer commuter and residential experience.

  • Be supportive of the participant's academic endeavors;

  • Attend all tutorial training sessions;

  • Notify Associate Director of any problems encountered;

  • Maintain records of tutorial sessions;

  • Maintain records of tutorial hours;

  • Assist staff in conducting SAT classes; assist students in completing SAT applications

  • Ather duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA in subject areas.

  • Experience tutoring secondary school or college students in laboratory setting; or middle school students;

  • Ability to write clear and concise, narrative reports;

  • Ability to use effective and proper English grammar;

  • Spanish (written and spoken required for at least 1 tutor);

  • Knowledge of remote and social media platforms used by target schools and participants.

Pay Range:

Minimum - Maximum: $17.00/hour
