Job Title: ASL Tutor / Teacher of Deaf /Education specialist -ASL
Position Summary:
We are seeking a patient, compassionate, and skilled tutor to provide academic and communication support for a child who is Deaf and autistic. The tutor will work one-on-one with the student to reinforce learning goals, build communication and social skills, and create a safe, engaging environment that supports the child’s unique needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized tutoring in core academic subjects at the child’s level.
Use American Sign Language (ASL), visual supports, and alternative communication methods as appropriate.
Adapt learning strategies to support both Deaf and autism-related learning needs.
Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to the family.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
Experience working with children who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing and/or autistic.
Background in education, special education, speech/language development, or related field preferred.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
Patience, creativity, and flexibility in adapting lessons to the child’s needs.
Work Schedule:
After school hours, weekends, or flexible schedule
Compensation:
$30-$60/hr
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $60.00 per hour
