Location: DHA 6, Lahore
Experience: 2 to 5 Years
Team: UX / Human–Robot Interaction
About the Role
We’re an AI robotics company building human‑centered products for older adults and people living with dementia, combining intelligent robots, mobile apps, and conversational agents. You’ll join a cross‑functional team of designers, Robotics hardware and AI engineers, and researchers working on intuitive, empathetic human–robot interaction, often in aging and dementia care contexts and global research collaborations.
You’ll own end‑to‑end UX across mobile, web, and robot interfaces: researching users, defining use cases, designing flows and prototypes, and iteratively testing mobile, robot, and conversational AI experiences with real users and developers.
Responsibilities
- Research & strategy: Conduct user research (interviews, observations, contextual inquiry) with older adults, care partners, clinicians, and other stakeholders; synthesize insights into personas, journey maps, service blueprints, and storyboards to frame problems and opportunities across the full robot‑assisted service.
- Experience design (mobile, web, robot): Design flows, wireframes, and low‑ to high‑fidelity prototypes for mobile apps, web tools, and robot interfaces (screen, voice, motion, light, gestures, movement, body language, nonverbal interactions), ensuring cohesive multi‑modal experiences and clear translation of complex AI/robotics/Application concepts into understandable interactions.
- Conversational UX & generative AI: Define conversation flows, prompts, dialog states, and edge cases for conversational bots (chat/voice), leveraging generative AI while being sensitive to aging and dementia needs.
- Use‑case visualization with AI video tools (in collaboration with visual design/animation): Work closely with the visual design team and/or animator to turn key use cases into short AI‑generated concept videos or motion sequences that clearly communicate user flows, robot behaviors and edge cases to tech teams, so developers and AI/robotics engineers know exactly what needs to be built.
- Testing & iteration (mobile, robot, AI, Design): Plan and run usability tests and role‑plays for mobile apps, robot behaviors, and conversational experiences; use logs, analytics, and user feedback with developers and AI engineers to iteratively improve comprehension, response quality, tone, trust, and overall UX; validate concepts via low‑fidelity “Wizard of Oz” and role‑play prototypes before full development. Perform user research, define design requirements, validate design solutions through testing, provide actionable feedback, and iteratively refine concepts to support the Design Team’s workflow.
- Collaboration & delivery: Partner with product managers, robotics/AI/ML engineers, experts, and other designers to define and refine use cases; provide clear specs and interaction guidelines; support implementation and QA; continuously monitor UX, AI, and HRI trends and bring relevant best practices into the team.
Typical deliverables:
Personas, journey maps, use‑case and task flows, storyboards and role‑play scripts, wireframes, high fidelity design and interactive prototypes (e.g., Figma), usability test plans and reports with iterative recommendations.
Must‑haves
- Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, BSCS, BSIT, BSSE, HCI, Psychology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years as a UX or Product Designer on digital products (mobile and/or web).
- Strong portfolio showing end‑to‑end UI & UX work (research → flows → prototypes → shipped features).
- Proficiency with modern design/prototyping tools (Figma).
- Solid grasp of user‑centered design, usability testing, and data‑informed decisions.
- Experience collaborating closely with developers from feasibility through implementation and iterative UX improvements.
- Clear communication and confidence presenting to cross‑functional teams.
Nice‑to‑haves
- Experience with AI‑powered products, conversational interfaces, or generative AI.
- Experience with robotics, IoT, or multimodal interfaces (voice, gesture, physical devices).
- Background in healthcare, aging, dementia care, or other sensitive domains.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design.
- Master’s degree in UX, HCI, or related field.
