UI/UX Designer (iOS)

Howdy,

I’m Brandon, the founder of Sølsk, Inc. I’m not going to post a generic job listing, because this isn’t a generic opportunity. I’m looking for a product designer, someone who wants to shape how Sølsk feels and flows in people’s hands.

Let’s be clear from the start: we’re a pre-seed, pre-product startup. We don’t have a cash salary yet. The numbers listed on this platform are placeholders.

Your compensation is equity (around 1%), making you one of the earliest contributors, or someone who helps define the look, personality, and usability of the app before funding.

The Vision

The current dating app landscape is a mess of noise such as superficial, endless swiping, and digital fatigue. Sølsk is the new beginning.
Our philosophy is “You First” for an experience that celebrates intentionality and personality.

• Låse: a 3-day exclusive chat that locks two people together, forcing genuine connection.
• Gnista: a community-driven feed where users respond to prompts with text, images, or drawings, and discover others through conversation, not algorithms.

We’re designing a human app with minimal, Scandinavian-inspired, warm, and focused themes.

The Role

As our Founding Product Designer, you’ll:

• Own the UI/UX of the Sølsk iOS app from design system and component library to final high-fidelity screens.
• Collaborate with our CTO to translate flows into working prototypes.
• Work directly with me to shape the visual identity such as typography, tone, and overall “feel” of Sølsk.
• Refine existing Figma mockups, build new ones for upcoming features, and maintain visual consistency across all touchpoints.

This is a part-time, flexible commitment (roughly 10–15 hours per week). It’s ideal for a designer who wants meaningful ownership early, or someone who values creative freedom and is excited to grow with the company.

Who I’m Looking For

• 2–5 years of UI/UX design experience (startup or mobile app experience preferred).
• Proficient in Figma, component systems, and mobile-first design.
• Strong eye for detail in typography, color balance, alignment, accessibility.
• Someone who loves creating visually minimalist but emotionally warm interfaces.
• Comfortable collaborating asynchronously and iterating quickly.
• Understands this is an equity-only position until funding.
