OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly skilled UI/UX Systems Engineer with experience in joining our multidisciplinary engineering team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between human-centered design and complex satellite communication systems, delivering intuitive, mission-critical interfaces that enhance user experience and system performance. You will work closely with systems engineers, software developers, satellite network specialists, and end-users to design, prototype, and optimize operator interfaces for satellite ground control, mission planning, and communication system management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS-
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a Human Factors/HCI/HMI focus or related field.

4+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design or systems engineering, including experience.

Proficiency with UI/UX tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.

Solid understanding of systems engineering principles and user-centered design methodologies.

Experience with design for complex, real-time, data-intensive systems, ideally in aerospace, defense, or telecommunications environments.

Ability to work across disciplines and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Active Top Secret security clearance required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS-
Master’s degree in related technical or design discipline.

Experience with DoD or aerospace/defense systems engineering processes (e.g., MIL-STD, DO-178C).

Familiarity with SATCOM architectures including GEO/MEO/LEO networks, waveform standards (e.g., DVB-S2, MIL-STD-188), and network management systems.

Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and DevSecOps pipelines.
-
Experience with usability testing in classified or operational SATCOM environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES-
Lead the design and development of user interfaces for SATCOM ground and terminal systems, with a focus on usability, performance, and reliability.

Conduct user research, persona development, and workflow analysis specific to SATCOM operators, maintainers, and analysts.

Translate complex system requirements and workflows into intuitive UI/UX designs and wireframes.

Develop interactive prototypes and UI mockups using industry-standard tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, Axure).

Collaborate with software and systems engineers to integrate UI designs into operational SATCOM platforms and mission systems.

Support system-level design reviews, interface control documents, and human factors engineering analysis.

Contribute to HMI/HCI documentation and usability testing in both development and field environments.

Stay up to date on best practices and emerging technologies in both UI/UX design and SATCOM systems.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS-
Salary Range: $100,000 - $135,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)
