Position Overview
The Unarmed School Security Supervisor plays a critical leadership role in maintaining a safe, structured, and positive learning environment across assigned school campuses. This position oversees daily guard operations, supports school administration, ensures compliance with district expectations, and serves as the primary on‑site liaison between security personnel and the Account Coordinator. The Supervisor is expected to model professionalism, build strong relationships with students and staff, and ensure all officers uphold Kellington’s standards of conduct, reporting, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Oversight
- Maintain order, professionalism, and accountability among all assigned School Security Officers (SSOs).
- Provide direction, coaching, and corrective guidance to officers as needed.
- Train new guards on post expectations, school procedures, and Kellington standards.
- Ensure officers complete written reports (handwritten or email) and review all reports for accuracy before submitting them to the Account Coordinator.
Communication & Coordination
- Report any issues beyond on‑site control to the Account Coordinator immediately.
- Receive, document, and communicate all call‑offs, tardies, and time‑off requests to the Account Coordinator.
- Maintain strong working relationships with students, school administration, and district personnel.
- Communicate any EMS, police, or potential news/media‑related incidents to Kellington Management as soon as possible.
Scheduling & Operational Support
- Understand the daily and weekly school schedule, including outside organization visits, pep rallies, early dismissals, holidays, and staffing needs.
- Assist the Account Coordinator in ensuring schedules are accurate and all shifts are filled.
- Support dismissal and bus duty in coordination with school administration.
- Attend high‑profile after‑school events such as parent nights, graduations, football games, middle school promotions, and any event designated as “high‑profile” by Kellington.
Campus Safety & Student Engagement
- Engage proactively with students, staff, and administrators to promote a safe and welcoming environment.
- Respond quickly and appropriately to escalated situations, emergencies, or behavioral incidents.
- Support de‑escalation efforts for students in crisis.
- Conduct routine patrols, including door and window checks, hallway monitoring, and perimeter assessments.
- Assist with traffic control and pedestrian safety during arrival, dismissal, and special events.
- Uphold and enforce school policies, behavior expectations, and district safety protocols.
Pre‑Employment Requirements
Candidates must successfully complete the following clearances upon hire:
- ACT 151 – PA Child Abuse Clearance
- ACT 34 – PA State Police Criminal Record Check
- ACT 114 – FBI Fingerprinting
- Tuberculosis (TB) Test
Mandatory Training (Provided & Paid)
- NASRO Certification
- ACT 126 – Mandated Reporter Training
- CPR/First Aid/AED Certification
Qualifications
- Ability to pass all required clearances
- Physical fitness certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior security, school safety, or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, and conflict‑resolution skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Professional demeanor and ability to build rapport with students and staff

Pay: $16.50 - $20.00 per hour
