Unarmed Security Officer

Overton Security is currently hiring for a Unarmed Security Officer in the Los Angeles Area to work at a local shopping center. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work swings and graves; weekends are required. This role requires keen observation skills, the ability to learn many different job sites.

Experience Level Required: 2 years licensed security

Hard Requirements:

• Open Availability
• Local to the site
• No More than 25 mi.
• No issues with transportation or distance.
• Customer Service Experience Technically Savvy
• Excellent Verbal & Written Communication
• Be Able to Walk/ Stand for a Long Periods of Time

General Duties:

• Hourly Foot Patrol
• Hold Over Until Relieved
• Multiple Officer Post
• Write Detailed Reports w/ Pictures
• Enforce Property Rules
• Closing Procedures
• Trespassing Enforcement (High Activity)
• Parking Enforcement
• Respond to Calls for Service

Duties:

• Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence
• Monitor perimeter fencing for any breaches or damage
• Provide customer service to the general public
• Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and for important occurrences.
• Communicate with local fire and police, Overton Management, SOC and the customer.
• Maintain a friendly demeanor towards employees, coworkers, etc…
• Monitor and patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activity.
• Work and train at many locations
• Availability for overtime is preferred

Experience & Qualifications:

• Must have 1 year of security experience
• High school diploma or GED
• Have a current BSIS Guard Card
• Have adequate English communication skills, both oral and written
• Have the ability to utilize wireless technology via mobile applications
• Maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality standards
• Must have a neat and professional appearance and hygiene standards
• Must have a flexible schedule and weekend availability
• Must be able to conduct foot patrols during the assigned shift
• Must have a clean driving record:
• Must provide a recent DMV printout and sign an motor vehicle record release
• For insurance purposes all candidates must be at least 25 years of age.
• Mobile Patrol position. Must pass drivers background check.
• Valid DL required.
• A safe driving record is a condition for employment as a driver.
• Driver must have three or more current years of verifiable over-the-road experience and a valid US CDL
• Candidates cannot have more than 3 tickets or
• 2 Tickets and 1 accident
• No more than1 accident
• No major traffic violations (ie DUI, DWI, DWLS, FMFR)
