WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?


  • At least 2 years of buying or brand management experience in Sportswear business.
  • Degree level education in business or fashion.
  • Qualification in marketing, commercial studies, retail, or business management.
  • Availability to travel abroad frequently
  • Ability to travel to store locations.
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English.
  • Highly motivated and must be able to demonstrate they can step up to the next level
  • Able to take ownership of the brand and its responsibilities, constantly striving to develop the business, and possessing an innovative perspective.
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of retail math; Knowledge of MS Office computer programs -advanced excel skills- are required
  • Good negotiation and strong organisation skills
  • Excellent multitasking skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs
  • Strong sense of personal style & fashion trends.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM THIS POSITION...


  • Primarily responsible for the planning, selecting, and buying of merchandise for all channels.
  • Define and maintain a buying strategy which matches customer profile, market requirements and the direction of the Business.
  • Take direction from the Buying Manager on all key financial, brand and range decisions. This role will be responsible for ensuring that these decisions are communicated effectively to all concerned both internally and externally and followed up accordingly.
  • Ensure buys are placed timely, they are set up accurately and communicated to suppliers so that on-time delivery is also achieved.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with global to aim for growth.
  • Buyers should be skilled in all the buying disciplines relating to brand, product knowledge expertise, product selection, segmentation setup, pricing, margin and sell-in management.
  • Plan effectively, prioritize and work under pressure as the number of contacts will be significant
  • Create necessary documents such as buying reports, marketing presentations, etc relevant to the buying process.
  • Preparation of Trend and Competitive analysis and Seasonal product training.
  • Provide end of season feedback to the global team.
