Underground Mine Manager

The Company

Globe 24-7, in partnership with a key client, is working together to source an experienced and qualified Under-Ground Mine Manager for their site in Oman.

The Responsibilities

Operations Management:

• Develop and execute comprehensive mine plans to ensure efficient and cost-effective extraction of mineral resources.
• Oversee day-to-day mining activities, including drilling, blasting, excavation, transportation, backfill and stockpiling.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate mining operations to identify areas for improvement, increase productivity, and reduce costs.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:

• Establish and enforce strict safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.
• Develop and implement comprehensive safety training programs and monitor compliance.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and promote environmentally sustainable mining practices.
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.

Team Leadership and Development:

• Lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team of mining professionals, including engineers, supervisors, technicians, and operators.
• Set performance goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and employee development.
• Identify training needs and provide training opportunities to enhance the skills and knowledge of the mining team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, Geology, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
• Extensive experience in mining operations, with a minimum of 7 years in a mining managerial role.
• In-depth knowledge of mining processes, equipment, and best practices.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations, environmental compliance, and industry standards.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale mining operations and achieving production targets.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
