Underground Utilities Supervisor (Water/Sewer/Drainage)

Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate underground water, sewer, and drainage construction and maintenance activities to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
  • Oversee heavy equipment operation including excavators, loaders, and tanker trucks used in utility installation and repair tasks.
  • Conduct inspections of underground piping systems, plumbing fixtures, and related infrastructure to identify issues requiring repair or replacement.
  • Manage data collection efforts related to system performance, maintenance records, and operational metrics for analysis and reporting.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) to diagnose system faults efficiently.
  • Perform routine equipment repairs on pumps, valves, sensors, and control systems to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with construction teams to plan and execute utility installation projects while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Direct and supervise over 10+ underground crews.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in underground utility construction or maintenance with a focus on water treatment or wastewater systems.
  • Mechanical knowledge of plumbing systems, pumps, valves, and control equipment such as PLCs and DCS.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and effectively in construction environments.
  • Strong analysis skills for interpreting system data collected from various control systems.
  • Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and perform tasks requiring sustained manual effort.
  • Knowledge of equipment repair techniques and routine maintenance practices for utility infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with water treatment processes, wastewater management, and drainage system operations is highly desirable. Pay: $2,500.00 - $2,800.00 per week
