Underground Utility Construction Supervisor

Position Summary:

Crown Fiber Optics is seeking a reliable and experienced Construction Supervisor to oversee telecommunications construction projects including underground, aerial, and splicing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day field operations, ensuring job site safety, maintaining quality control, coordinating with subcontractors, and delivering projects on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate field crews performing underground, aerial, and fiber splicing work.
• Ensure projects are executed according to engineering plans, permitting requirements, and company standards.
• Conduct daily job site inspections and enforce safety compliance (OSHA, DOT, and company policies).
• Review and verify work progress, redlines/as-builts, and project documentation.
• Communicate project status with internal teams, customers, and subcontractors.
• Coordinate materials, equipment, and crew scheduling to meet project milestones.
• Resolve field-level conflicts and escalate issues as needed.
• Verify and approve daily production, timecards, and job tracking data.
• Support training and mentorship of field staff to uphold quality and safety culture.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of construction supervisory experience, preferably in telecommunications or utilities.
• Strong knowledge of underground and aerial fiber optic installation practices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, prints, and permits.
• Familiar with relevant safety regulations (OSHA, NESC, MUTCD, etc.).
• Proficient in using tablets, project tracking software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to travel to job sites and work in varying weather conditions.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• OSHA 10/30 certification
• First Aid/CPR certification
• Experience with directional drilling, microtrenching, or splicing is a plus
• CDL (preferred, not required)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
