Upholstery Tailor

A renowned 5-star resort is seeking a skilled and passionate Upholstery Tailor to join our dedicated team and play a vital role in preserving the beauty and elegance of our property.

As an Upholstery Tailor, you will be an essential part of our maintenance and preservation team. Your expert hands will ensure that all soft furnishings—from guest room chairs and sofas to restaurant banquettes, lobby draperies, and poolside cabanas—reflect the 5-star quality our guests expect. You will combine traditional tailoring skills with a keen eye for detail to maintain and restore our exquisite interior fabric elements.

Responsibilities:

• Perform expert repairs, alterations, and restoration of all upholstered furniture, cushions, and draperies.
• Create custom-fitted covers and new upholstery pieces as required by design updates or renovations.
• Work with a variety of luxury fabrics, leathers, and materials, following specific care and handling instructions.
• Conduct regular inspections of all soft furnishings to identify wear and tear, and proactively address issues.
• Collaborate with the Housekeeping and Facilities teams to assess damage and plan repairs efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment.
• Manage inventory of fabrics, threads, and other sewing supplies.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience as an upholsterer or tailor, preferably within a hotel, high-end furniture company.
