Upper East Side Family looking for responsible nanny/educator!

UES family looking for an educational child care provider/nanny starting May 2026, from 10:45AM to 8:45PM, Monday through Friday, with early leave on Fridays. They are looking for child care +school pick-up, snack and meal prep, someone who will be with their family for at least a year or two, and someone who can make the mundane moments great opportunities for learning!

The family is seeking someone who is incredibly reliable, responsible, and well-versed in child development, early childhood education, or other related fields. To be considered, you must have a bachelor’s degree and experience in care and education. Early education majors (or a related field) are preferred. Those with childcare, after school, tutoring, camp counseling or education-related volunteer experience are also encouraged to apply!

Requirements:

  • Able to travel to the UES, NYC for all childcare sessions
  • Must be available weekdays from 10:45am - 8:45pm, Monday through Friday
  • At least three years of experience in babysitting, toddler childcare, early childhood education, and/or early elementary school lead instruction
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in education or a related field
  • A self starter who is organized, creative, and punctual
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Phone-free sessions. The family has requested that cell phone use is limited to necessary communication and emergencies only.
  • Nonsmoker

Role and responsibilities:

  • School pick up + child care
  • To use creative skills in planning activities that promote the physical, emotional, intellectual and social development of the child; focusing on the child’s special needs and interests.
  • To support children's self-confidence, ability to express wants and needs, fostering curiosity, kindness, helpfulness, taking turns, how to handle frustration, etc.
  • To ensure homework is done, checked, learning gaps identified and supported, backpacks unpacked, checked and restocked as needed.
  • To promote good communication with parents concerning children's day.
  • To dedicate as much as possible to educational events and activities. Examples: flash cards on the bus, reading during meals, having the older children read to you while you’re prepping meals, etc.

Preferred qualifications:

  • A degree in teaching and early elementary certification
  • Certifications in Infant & Child CPR/AED and First Aid
  • Advanced degrees in education or related field

Pay: $1,200.00 - $1,300.00 per week
