Position Title: Upper Elementary Teacher
Reports To: School Principal
Employment Type: Full-time

The Christian School at Castle Hills, serving students 6 weeks through 12th grade, is a college preparatory school that is leading students to know Christ and make Christ known while developing tomorrow’s servant leaders today. We are currently accepting applications for a Upper Elementary Teacher.

Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and Christ-centered individual to join our team as a Lower Elementary Teacher. The ideal candidate will foster a love for learning in young students while nurturing their spiritual, academic, social, and emotional development. This role involves integrating a biblical worldview into teaching, partnering with parents, and creating a classroom environment that reflects the school’s Christian values.

Key Responsibilities

Spiritual Leadership

  • Model a Christ-like attitude and behavior in all interactions.
  • Incorporate biblical principles into lessons and classroom management.
  • Guide students in spiritual growth through prayer, devotions, and biblical instruction.

Instructional Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and standards for lower elementary grades (typically 3rd, 4th, 5th, & 6th)
  • Employ age-appropriate teaching methods to support a variety of learning styles.
  • Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills in students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments, adjusting instruction to meet individual needs.

Classroom Management

  • Create and maintain a positive, Christ-centered classroom environment.
  • Implement effective behavior management strategies that reflect Christian values.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and organized learning space.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, concerns, and classroom updates.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to enhance instructional practices and share resources.

Qualifications

Spiritual and Personal

  • A committed Christian who demonstrates a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Agreement with the school’s statement of faith and mission.
  • A passion for Christian education and a heart for working with children.

Educational and Professional

  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field (required).
  • Teaching certification (State or ACSI certification)
  • Previous experience teaching in an elementary classroom, preferably in a Christian school setting.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $34,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
