Upstream Manager

Our key customer, the largest and longest-established independent upstream operator in the Middle East, is seeking an accomplished Upstream Manager to join their executive leadership team.

The Upstream Manager will lead the delivery of exploration, appraisal, and field development plans, ensuring projects create maximum value and align with the company’s strategic and financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute well, reservoir, and field development plans to optimize asset value.
• Oversee exploration and appraisal programs, ensuring compliance with obligations and maximizing early revenue.
• Lead reserves reporting and coordinate third-party audits.
• Prepare upstream inputs for annual work plans, budgets, and business planning.
• Facilitate workshops with venture partners and contribute to operating/management committees.
• Support the Upstream Director in planning, reporting, and performance monitoring.
• Mentor and manage technical staff, ensuring strong delivery across upstream functions.

Requirements

• 20+ years’ upstream oil & gas experience, ideally with an IOC or large independent.
• Strong track record in E&P project delivery across technical and commercial aspects.
• Broad exposure to E&P planning, strategy, and economics.
• Collaborative leadership style with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to engage effectively with partners, authorities, and other business functions.
• Comfortable balancing high-level strategy with hands-on project involvement.
• Willingness to travel for partner and committee meetings.
