Urban Landscaping Crew Member

Who we are:

Flora Explora offers upscale interior / exterior design, installation, and maintenance, plus holiday design. Our niche services beautify high-end commercial clients in Boston by planting oversized planters and hanging baskets in parks, courtyards, and rooftops. We then maintain this lush indoor and outdoor foliage throughout each season, we are seasonal color specialists. This urban landscaping does require hard work and attention to detail but doesn’t require excavation, mowing lawns or hardscaping like you may expect when you hear landscaping.

Who you are:

You have the energy and drive to stay busy and on schedule when not directly supervised. You have an interest in horticulture and beautifying properties. You have good communication skills, a positive demeanor and an understanding of the importance of a professional image. You are organized, like to learn and follow systems. You live within 30 minutes of our Walpole office and have reliable transportation. Crew members must have at least 2 years of experience gardening or landscaping.

What does a typical day on the job look like:

• Arrive at 6:15 am at Walpole office
• Load / secure equipment in vehicles
• Travel with team to Boston
• Follow & execute job work orders per Crew Leader
• Perform exterior maintenance or install new plantings
• Identify pests and other plant issues
• Help change out interior flowering plants
• Troubleshoot issues in field
• Keep job site organized and clean at all times
• Complete work within scheduled time
• Enter all necessary account notes and labor hours into apps
• Ensure customer satisfaction and promote company image
• Travel with team back to Walpole when all work orders completed
• Keep trucks organized and clean and unload / load materials for next day

Physical requirements:

This position requires extended periods of standing, bending, kneeling and occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like. You must have the ability to complete medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds. You will occasionally operate machinery, power tools and/or motor vehicles. The work environment may occasionally result in exposure to high/low temperatures and outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Experience:

• Gardening/Landscape: 1 year (Preferred)
