Urdu Teacher – Secondary Section

Karachi, Pakistan

Job Purpose:
To teach Urdu language and literature to secondary students as per the Karachi Board curriculum, ensuring students achieve strong linguistic skills, literary appreciation, and academic excellence in Urdu.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lesson Delivery & Curriculum Implementation

  • Teach Urdu grammar, vocabulary, prose, poetry, and composition as per the Karachi Board syllabus.
  • Prepare lesson plans aligned with the Board-approved scheme of studies.
  • Ensure timely coverage of the syllabus in accordance with the academic calendar.

2. Student Learning & Assessment

  • Conduct class tests, assignments, and mock exams as per Karachi Board standards.
  • Prepare students for Karachi Board examinations with a strong focus on past papers and marking schemes.
  • Provide remedial support to students needing extra help.

3. Classroom Management & Discipline

  • Maintain classroom discipline and a positive learning environment.
  • Encourage student participation and critical thinking through discussions and activities.

4. Curriculum Enrichment & Co-Curricular Activities

  • Promote Urdu literature and culture through debates, writing competitions, and reading sessions.
  • Incorporate audio-visual and interactive tools to make lessons engaging.

5. Record Keeping & Communication

  • Maintain student attendance, marks registers, and progress reports as per school policy.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student performance.

6. Professional Responsibilities

  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and Karachi Board orientation workshops.
  • Stay updated with Karachi Board notifications, syllabus updates, and exam policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urdu or Education (B.Ed/M.Ed preferred).
  • Experience: 2–3 years of experience teaching Urdu at the secondary level, preferably in Karachi Board schools.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent command of Urdu language and literature.
  • Knowledge of Karachi Board syllabus and exam patterns.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to engage students through innovative teaching methods.
