Job Description: Accounts Manager

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Manager to oversee the financial operations . The Accounts Manager will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, handling day-to-day accounting tasks, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial principles, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management:
- Oversee daily financial operations including bookkeeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Prepare and review financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Ensure the accurate recording of all financial transactions.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Develop and manage the annual budget.
- Monitor spending and recommend adjustments to stay within budget.
- Prepare financial forecasts to assist in decision-making and business growth.
- Inventory and Cost Management:
- Track inventory levels and ensure proper cost management and cost-of-goods-sold (COGS) reporting.
- Assist in evaluating suppliers and negotiating pricing and payment terms.
- Monitor and control stock turnover rates, shrinkage, and wastage.
- Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, including taxes, VAT, and other relevant local or state requirements.
- Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring the grocery shop remains in good standing with tax authorities.
- Liaise with auditors to conduct annual audits and ensure the integrity of financial records.
- Financial Analysis & Strategic Planning:
- Analyse financial data and provide actionable insights to senior management for business improvement.
- Recommend cost-saving measures, pricing strategies, and financial policies to improve profitability.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
- Cash Flow Management:
- Oversee the management of cash flow, ensuring the sufficient liquidity for daily operations.
- Manage relationships with suppliers, vendors, and customers to ensure smooth financial transactions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience (6+ years) in accounting or financial management, preferably in environment.
- Knowledge of accounting software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms).
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and communicate findings effectively.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position, with standard working hours.
- Occasional weekend work or overtime may be required during peak business periods.
