1. Job Summary

The Urologist is responsible for diagnosing and treating diseases related to the urinary tract and male reproductive system. The role includes OPD consultations, inpatient management, performing urological procedures, and participating in hospital academic activities. The Urologist is expected to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care with a focus on patient safety and clinical excellence.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide OPD consultations, evaluate patient conditions, interpret diagnostic results, and plan treatment.
  • Manage inpatient admissions, progress monitoring, and discharge planning.
  • Perform urological procedures including cystoscopy, ureteroscopy, TURP, TURBT, PCNL, URSL, stone management, and other endourological surgeries as applicable.
  • Assist in robotic surgeries / laparoscopic urology procedures (if trained).
  • Handle urological emergencies like renal colic, urinary retention, hematuria, trauma, and obstructive uropathy.
  • Discuss treatment plans, risks, and benefits with patients and obtain informed consent.

B. Diagnostic & Therapeutic Duties

  • Interpret imaging studies such as ultrasound, CT, MRI, and uroflowmetry.
  • Manage urological cancers, male infertility cases, prostate disorders, urinary tract infections, and incontinence.
  • Guide and prescribe laboratory tests, radiological investigations, and interventions.

C. Patient Safety & Quality Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to NABH protocols, infection control guidelines, and hospital policies.
  • Document clinical notes, treatment plans, surgical details, and follow-up advice accurately in HIS.
  • Participate in clinical audits, morbidity and mortality meetings, and quality improvement programs.
  • Maintain complete medical records and comply with medico-legal requirements.

D. Team Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with anesthesiologists, nephrologists, radiologists, and nursing teams.
  • Provide guidance to junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, CMEs, and academic activities.

E. Patient Education & Counseling

  • Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment options, preventive care, and postoperative instructions.
  • Provide lifestyle modification advice and long-term management plans for chronic urological conditions.

3. Qualifications & Experience

  • M.Ch. Urology / DNB Urology from a recognized and accredited institution.
  • Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in clinical and surgical urology.
  • Valid Medical Council Registration (Mandatory).
  • Experience in endourology, laparoscopy, and robotic surgery preferred (training can be provided if needed).

5. Work Conditions

  • OPD, IPD, and emergency responsibilities as per duty roster.

  • Fast-paced clinical environment requiring precision and alertness.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹250,000.00 per month
