With innovative and exciting operational initiatives, the Authentication Operations team is a fast-paced and passion-filled team to be a part of! This team has optimally launched watches, handbags, sneakers, trading cards, and apparel authentication in the US, CA, AU, UK, DE and JP in under four years. We are a group of outstanding and diverse teammates who together make a complete business unit and are seeking a Apparel Trainer for our global operations!
The Apparel Trainer will be an essential contributor to eBay’s training initiatives, specifically within the scope of the Authenticity Guarantee for luxury categories such as clothing, footwear, and accessories. This position entails the crafting and delivery of engaging, high-impact training sessions that are designed to bolster the knowledge and competencies of authenticators across multiple warehouse sites. The role demands a collaborative approach to support and enhance onboarding processes, ongoing education, and performance-based coaching strategies. The Trainer will be directly overseen by the Category Lead for Handbags/Accessories Training, ensuring alignment with broader departmental goals and standards. Through these efforts, the Trainer will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and maintaining eBay’s commitment to authentic product experiences in the luxury market.
Training Delivery
Lead engaging in-person and virtual training sessions for global sites, including onboarding, product expansions, and refresher courses.
Conduct practical evaluations during the hiring process and deliver tailored training to new and existing team members.
Materials & Program Development
Collaborate on the creation of training resources—job aids, e-learning, and live training—tailored to authentication needs and trends.
Maintain up-to-date guides and design creative training methods based on launches, expansion plans, and risk areas.
Assessment & Coaching
Develop and administer tier-based assessments with the Category Lead and LMS Manager; track authenticator progression and performance.
Provide ongoing coaching and constructive feedback; document growth areas and improvement opportunities for each authenticator.
Authentication Support
Provide hands-on authentication support when needed to assist team operations, prioritizing accuracy and speed.
Serve as a category expert, offering guidance and clarification to authenticators on complex or unfamiliar items.
Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Report progress, risks, and insights weekly to leadership; support onboarding for new sites or categories as assigned.
Manage training projects effectively while fostering relationships with cross-functional teams and sharing documentation with key stakeholders.
Additional Responsibilities
Requires up to 25-50% travel annually (domestic and international).
Expertise in luxury apparel authentication, with bonus points for handbags and accessories experience
A sharp eye for trends, new drops, and emerging product lines
2+ years of experience in training, teaching, or authentication
Confidence in delivering engaging learning experiences for adult learners, both in-person and virtually
A collaborative approach and the ability to build strong relationships across global teams
Familiarity with instructional design principles and assessment development
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical thinking with the ability to work independently and influence outcomes
A commitment to championing diversity, equity, and belonging
Proficiency in Google Suite and familiarity with Workday LMS or similar learning platforms
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$58,700 - $84,400Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
