US Equity Sales Trader - Global Investment Bank

Coda Search is proud to partner with a globally recognized boutique investment bank to identify a US Equity Sales Trader for their growing New York desk. This is a relationship-driven, client-facing role for an experienced equity markets professional ready to build meaningful business on a differentiated institutional platform.


Location: Midtown Manhattan (On-Site, 5 days/week)

Base Salary: $175,000 - $250,000

Commissions: Up to 30-35% of total book -- a $2M+ book yields $750K+ in total earnings

What will your day look like?

  • Client relationship management: Maintain and deepen long-term relationships with institutional clients -- hedge funds, asset managers, and long-only funds -- providing high-value insight on U.S. equity market developments.
  • Order flow generation: Drive new order flow in secondary and primary markets across existing coverage and new client relationships.
  • New business development: Identify and onboard new institutional accounts, leveraging your existing network and the firm's differentiated equity product.
  • Market insight delivery: Serve as a subject matter expert on U.S. equity market dynamics, guiding client decision-making with timely, relevant, and actionable perspective.
  • Cross-team collaboration: Work closely with internal sales, research, and trading teams to optimize execution and deliver a cohesive client experience.
  • Resource prioritization: Allocate your time and effort strategically across clients and products to maximize revenue generation and relationship depth.


Who are you?

  • You have 10+ years in equity markets: Your experience is real, your relationships are yours, and you know how to generate and sustain order flow on an institutional platform.
  • You come from a boutique or mid-tier platform: You understand how to sell a differentiated product without leaning on a balance sheet. Bulge bracket-only backgrounds and derivatives-heavy books are not the fit here.
  • You have a portable book: You bring existing institutional relationships and have a realistic path to $1M+ in year one. Relationships are the job -- not a nice to have.
  • You are entrepreneurial by nature: You do not need a massive infrastructure behind you to be productive. You build your own business, manage your own relationships, and take ownership of outcomes.
  • You are a Director or VP caliber professional: Your title and tenure reflect someone who has operated at a senior level on a trading desk and earned credibility with institutional clients over time.
