Position Summary...

Join Walmart’s Digital Infrastructure Team, a group dedicated to managing and reducing technology risk across one of the world’s largest digital enterprises. The team works cross-functionally to identify systemic risks, enhance governance, and build scalable frameworks that support innovation while maintaining trust and compliance.

We value continuous improvement, hands-on technical credibility, and adaptability — constantly seeking ways to apply automation and data intelligence to make risk management more proactive and effective. Your contributions will directly influence how Walmart builds, deploys, and secures technology for millions of customers and associates worldwide.

As a Senior Risk Expert, you will play a critical role in shaping and advancing Walmart's technology and information risk strategy. You will use your technical fluency, systems thinking, and analytical skills to identify emerging risks, strengthen control environments, and design innovative, automated solutions that safeguard Walmart’s global digital ecosystem.

You will lead through influence — partnering across engineering, product, legal, and security functions to drive alignment between business objectives and technology risk practices. You’ll leverage AI, automation, and data-driven insights to create scalable solutions to complex issues across Walmart's digital infrastructure.

What you'll do...

  • Lead initiatives to identify, assess, and mitigate technology and operational risks across Walmart’s digital infrastructure, e.g. websites, and mobile applications.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align practices with business strategy, compliance needs, and working with technologists to remediate issue findings.

  • Develop and implement automated processes, reporting tools, and system connections (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira) to improve visibility, efficiency, and scalability in risk activities, leveraging AI to enhance regulatory risk identification, analysis, and reporting across global systems.

  • Convert complex technical issues into practical solutions.

  • Evaluate privacy controls’ design and effectiveness in support of compliance with privacy regulation.

  • Enable continuous improvement in risk detection, monitoring, and reporting, exploring emerging tools and methods to make risk management more intelligent, automated, and adaptive.

What You’ll Bring...

  • A strong systems mindset with expertise in technology, infrastructure, data flows, and digital systems, paired with curiosity about how things work beneath the surface and how to leverage AI to improve them.

  • Experience in technology risk management, controls testing, or governance in complex, data-driven, or regulated environments.

  • Hands-on technical skills in scripting, troubleshooting, log analysis, or system integration, with the ability to create dashboards and automated, repeatable workflows.

  • Proficiency with tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or GRC platforms, and creativity to extend them through automation or AI.

  • Exceptional communication and influence skills—able to translate technical findings into business impact and align business requirements with actionable technical guidance.

  • A mindset for continuous improvement and risk optimization—turning gaps into resilient, efficient processes, simplifying complexity, and translating innovative ideas into practical operations.
