Role summary:

As a Software Engineer III, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable software solutions that meet business and technical requirements. This position involves analyzing complex requirements, coding with adherence to standards, and implementing automated testing and deployment processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality deliverables while driving continuous improvement and innovation. The role demands strong expertise in agile methodologies, software design, and project management to support the successful execution of development initiatives aligned with organizational goals.


About the team:

The IPT team focuses on developing and supporting platforms for GNFR sourcing, contracting, and procurement. This team applies Agile methodology to deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions that meet business and technical requirements. Members collaborate closely to analyze needs, design software, and implement efficient code while ensuring security and performance standards. The team emphasizes continuous improvement, leveraging project management and software design skills to drive innovation. By maintaining strong stakeholder partnerships and adhering to best practices, the IPT team contributes to Walmart’s operational excellence and supports its commitment to delivering value through reliable technology platforms.


What you'll do:

  • Analyze and scope business and technical requirements, ensuring alignment with stakeholder needs and project objectives.
  • Develop and maintain user stories, functional and non-functional requirements, and traceability matrices within Agile frameworks.
  • Design, code, and configure software components using appropriate languages and tools, adhering to coding standards and security policies.
  • Build automation scripts to support continuous integration and delivery processes, enhancing efficiency and reliability.
  • Execute comprehensive testing, including defect tracking and regression testing, to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement maintenance and improvement activities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support project milestones and deliver business solutions aligned with organizational goals.


What you'll bring:

  • Proven expertise in Agile methodology and software design principles to deliver scalable, maintainable solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of coding standards, languages such as JavaScript, Python, or C, and relevant development frameworks and tools.
  • Experience in requirement analysis, including functional and non-functional requirements, scoping, and estimation.
  • Ability to develop and maintain traceability matrices linking business, functional, design, and test requirements.
  • Proficiency in continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) processes, automation scripting, and telemetry implementation.
  • Skilled in defect management, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Familiarity with program monitoring, metrics reporting, and adherence to project milestones and timelines.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
